Rahab Angel Network

Volunteer Intern Programme

Debbie Hwang

"I really enjoyed and benefited from my internship with Rahab. I have a long-standing interest in this area, and they recognised the professional and educational skills I could contribute to their mission, working with me to find projects that were beneficial to both the organisation and my own journey.

Rahab exposed me to a multitude of experiences that opened my eyes to what is needed to support and assist the women, and an amazing opportunity to gain insight on the varied yet collaborative roles different organisations play.

Rahab is a wonderful organisation, and the support they provide women in vulnerable situations is incredibly valuable. I would recommend an internship with Rahab to anybody passionate about the mission and willing to think outside of the box!"

Debbie has a BSc in Foreign Service from Georgetown University, Washington DC and MSc in Violence, Conflict and Development from SOAS, University of London. Before joining Rahab she had experience volunteering with NGOs in Nepal helping women and girls affected by human trafficking. Debbie's professional background is 10 years as a counterterrorism analyst with the US Defence Department where she worked for many years in the Middle East. She is currently pursuing a career in international development and human rights.
